Meet the Founder
Vijay Subramanian is a distinguished expert in sustainability research and regulatory strategy, currently serving as the CEO of Marklytics. He leads the company’s mission to build next-generation, cloud-based platforms for CO₂ emissions analytics, regulatory intelligence, and ESG-aligned digital solutions. With over 20 years of experience at the nexus of automotive engineering, sustainable finance, and climate policy, Vijay brings unparalleled depth in shaping the low-carbon mobility transition. He previously served as Global Director of CO₂ & Emissions Compliance at IHS Markit (now S&P Global Mobility), where he headed global consulting on automotive electrification, ESG strategy, regulatory compliance, and sustainable investment frameworks. At S&P Global, Vijay advised leading automotive OEMs, tier-1 suppliers, and institutional investors on carbon credit markets, compliance strategies (including Euro 6/7, CAFE, China NEV, and ZEV mandates), vehicle lifecycle emissions modeling, and ESG disclosure requirements. He was instrumental in integrating regulatory foresight with mobility data analytics, contributing to the firm’s ESG ratings and transport sustainability indices. His work laid the foundation for data-driven decision-making in corporate sustainability and capital allocation. In 2024, Vijay was knighted by the historic Florentine order Parte Guelfa for his global contributions to sustainable finance and regulatory consulting—a rare recognition underscoring his role as a thought leader in climate-aligned innovation. Vijay has also shared insights at global forums including COP26, where he addressed pathways for decarbonizing transport, aligning private sector strategy with net-zero targets, and mobilizing green capital for automotive transitions. His awards include the Automotive News Rising Star, reflecting his long-standing impact on the mobility sector. He holds a Master of Engineering and seamlessly bridges deep technical expertise with ESG strategy, regulatory foresight, and financial innovation. At Marklytics, Vijay is spearheading efforts to deliver high-impact solutions that help industries meet evolving emissions mandates while enabling transparent, data-driven sustainability reporting.
